The Trotter Kids

Here are the Trotter kids all decked out in their Christmas clothes. Mom wanted a Christmas portrait but wasn't too hopeful after the session. I knew better and showed her some good ones on the back of the camera. When she came in she was thrilled with the results. I love it when that happens.
Take a look at their slideshow for more images.

Grant at 2 Years old

Many of you probably remember Grant. He's been in a few times before and now he's two! He's really changed. He was so happy as long as he had a toy in his hands -- so there are a lot of images with toys.
Take a look at his slideshow and leave a comment.

Melissa and David

Last week we met up with Melissa and David at the Franklin Park Conservatory for their engagement portraits. We had a blast and we pretty-much had the place to ourselves because the OSU-Michigan game was going on. Afterwards, we looked at the pictures and talked while we had lunch.

I'm not sure what he said to warrant the slap, but it was kind of funny.
I love all the Dale Chihuly sculptures in there.
Thanks for looking and be sure to check out their slideshow.

I have time!

Well, at long last, I finally have some time to update the blog. For those of you who are anxiously waiting for your slideshows, they'll be up in no particular order. If you really want yours to be next, just send an e-mail and I'll put it in the front of the queue.

There will be more later today -- I promise.

Speaking at MOPS

A few days ago on Friday we had the opportunity to speak at the Marysville MOPS group. MOPS is an organization dedicated to Mothers Of Pre-Schoolers. We do this from time to time and it's a great way to show these moms how to take better photographs. We mostly talk about how to get the most out of your point-and-shoot digital camera. We have examples of a "typical" picture and what can be done (very easily) to make it much better.

Then the rest of the time is a Q&A session. That usually lasts a good half hour or more and could go longer if it wasn't stopped.

We also show some of our work, of course. ;-)

If you're involved with an organization that needs speakers, give us a call (or send an e-mail). We'd love to talk about it.

Here's a picture because I don't like posts without some sort of image.

End of an era

Well, we all knew it was coming. The big "ROSS" sign on the warehouse that you could see from highway 680 is gone. It's been there for decades. Soon you'll see "Abbott Nutrition" (or maybe just "Abbott") emblazoned on the side of the building. I'm not sure if the red stripe will remain -- but I kind of doubt it.

Twinsday

Last Saturday was "Twinsday" for us. It's not too often that we get to photograph twins, so it was really amazing that we had sessions with two sets.
First, Morgan and Mariah were here for their senior portraits. They each have their own slideshow (and blog post -- scroll down a bit to see them) so be sure to watch both of them. It turns out that I did a good job matching their names with their images. I would've hated to mix them up, though I'm sure it happens all the time.
In the afternoon we went over to Gavin and Ava's house for their newborn portraits. It was easier to tell these two apart -- Gavin's a bit bigger. And check out that arm in the picture above -- isn't that precious? There's just one slideshow for the two of them. Scroll down to the previous post to watch it.

Remember, almost all of the pictures on this blog link to slideshows. Of course, they don't on this post, but most of them do. ;-)

Today ended up being a busy Saturday, too, so stay tuned for more pictures.

Gavin and Ava

We had the privilege of going over to Gavin and Ava's house last week for their newborn portraits. Yes, they're twins! They're both so tiny. They're not allowed to be around too many people and we had to wash up and disinfect our hands before we got started. But once we started, they were a joy to work with. We ended up staying later than we thought because, well, that's just the way newborns are. They have their own schedule.
The family dog even got to be in a few!
Of course, you couldn't expect me to not put a slideshow up, so here you go.

Mariah

Mariah is the twin sister of Morgan (see post below), who also was here for her senior portraits last Saturday. She has her own slideshow for you to see.

Morgan

Last Saturday Morgan came in with her sister, Mariah, for their Senior portraits. We were having so much fun that I ended up with tons of images to sort through. I think the hardest thing was telling them apart.
The slideshow came out really well, too.

New Greeting Cards

We've just added a new line of greeting cards! You can see what they all look like on our regular Web site. As usual, you can customize the text however you want. Right now we have holiday cards and birth announcement cards, but they're all interchangable. That means you can choose any design and make it work for what you want.
