Valarie at 6 Months

Valarie was here last week for her six-month portraits and she's getting really cute. Well, she always has been, really.Image from Valarie's 6-month Portraits from Squier Photography. Click for a slideshow.Looking coy in this bathtub.

Owen is 4

Owen was one of our very first "Baby's First Year" kids and he's been coming back ever since. It's amazing how quickly they grow up. This time we decided to go outside down to the creek. It was much drier than it has been earlier in the year, but there was still enough water to play in.Image from Owen's Portraits from Squier Photography. Click for a slideshow. He has a great smile in this next one.

Grace

This post is from our Senior site: Columbus Senior Portraits.

Grace is one of the latest seniors to stop by for portraits and I'm so glad she did. This first image has some wonderful textures in the wood wall.

I love the way the sun was lighting up her hair in this next one.

Kelly

This post is from our senior site: Columbus Senior Portraits.

On Friday we went down to the creek again -- this time with Kelly. I think this first image really captures her spirit.

We're not quite to the creek, here, but I love this one.

And here we are in the water. It's nice when the water is so warm.Kelly's Senior Portrait from Squier Photography

What's a Canvas Gallery Wrap?

This post was originally found on our Senior blog site: Columbus Senior Portraits.

We often get asked about what Canvas Gallery Wraps are. It's one of the most asked questions we get, so I thought I'd do a blog post just to answer it. Eventually, it'll go into our page of FAQs. This is what a Canvas Gallery Wrap looks like:

20 x 40 Canvas Gallery Wrap

What's nice about these is that they don't need to be framed, though you certainly can frame them, if you want. By not having a frame, you can move them to different rooms (or houses) and they won't need to be re-framed to match the new room. They're a little more modern-looking than traditional portraits. That one above is twenty by forty inches. Sounds huge, right?

This is how it looks over a couch in a modest-sized living room (12x15 feet).

20 x 40 Canvas Over a Couch

It doesn't look as big as it sounds, does it?

Of course, if the Gallery Wrap isn't the only portrait on the wall, it can work well. This next image shows a 30 x 40 canvas in the middle with a 28x28 canvas on the left. On the right are a couple framed 11x14 prints for some perspective.

Canvas Prints over a Couch

So, there you go. When we say that bigger is better for canvases, it's because we often get people coming back telling us they wish they'd gone with a bigger one.

Beth

This post is from our senior blog: Columbus Senior Portraits.

Beth is another Senior Spokesmodel from Dublin Coffman High School. We had such a great time in the studio and especially outside at this new (for us) location. As always, she has a slideshow, too.

This tie dye background is a trip. Bright, bold, and beautiful with Beth. Nice alliteration, eh?
Tie Dye!

This next image has such amazing colors -- especially in the water. Look at her "hippie shirt" -- isn't that great?

She just can't take a bad portrait. This rustic building was the perfect backdrop to show off her eyes.

Courtney

This post is from our senior blog: Columbus Senior Portraits.

Courtney is one of our Senior Spokesmodels from Dublin Scioto High School. She was great to work with, if a little shy at first. Pretty soon she was dancing and posing and generally just having a great time.

We started out in the studio (as usual) but quickly moved outside. You can see the studio images in her slideshow. This was the first time we had taken a senior to this park but you can see there's a lot going on there. Well, this first one could be anywhere, I suppose. It's just a big tree.

This next one is on the back of a caboose that was moved to the park.
